Job summary

Assistant Psychologist

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Walsall Learning Disability (LD) CAMHS team. The successful applicant will work under supervision with children and young people with moderate to severe learning disability who are experiencing a range of mental health needs and/ or displaying significant behavioural distress.

The LD-CAMHS team is part of the wider CAMHS service and has active links with the Intensive Support Team, Key Worker Team and the Disabled Children and Young People's Team.

Applicants must have a first degree in psychology with eligibility for British Psychological Society Graduate Basis for Chartership, 2:1 or above. Applicants will ideally have prior clinical and research experience, including data and statistical analysis.

Main duties of the job

Duties will vary but include observational assessment and clinical work, data collection, audit and evaluation. All work will be completed under close supervision by an Applied Psychologist.

We are looking for a psychology graduate who already has some experience of data collection, assessment and working directly with clients and it would be desirable if they already had experience of working with service users with a severe learning disability.
