Job summary
The opportunity has arisen to recruit a Driver to join our friendly and welcoming team for Stores and Transport at Penn Hospital in Wolverhampton and Pear Tree Lane in Dudley.
A full clean driving license is required. Must be able to drive a range of different vehicles and be able to maneuver cages of goods in all areas and environments so a clear understanding and experience in manual handling is a must.
The post is part of a job share and mainly in Wolverhampton and Stourbridge areas though you must be flexible and able to travel to other areas if required.
Candidates must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to multi-task, be flexible in their approach and be reactive to changing service need. The successful candidate will demonstrate a good standard of education, proven keyboard skills, enjoy team working and have previous experience in a customer-focused environment.

Main duties of the job
Delivery and collection of medical records/internal/external post and a range of samples from around sites within the Trust throughout the day keeping to set times.
Follow written instructions and complete jobs to assist Staff in the trust e.g.:
- Trust office moves within the same building or from site to site
- Setting up meeting rooms
- Delivering catering items, Buffets etc.
- Removing and disposing of old electrical equipment
- Carry out daily vehicle checks Oil, Water, and Tyre Pressure/Wash and clean inside/out on a weekly basis.
- To assist within the Stores as and when required, involving manual handling of goods inwards/outwards.
- To attend Workshops and on-going PDP
- Be prepared to obtain relevant qualifications as and when needed.
- Identify training opportunities for own role and for Monitoring Officers.
- Continuity research journals, websites, networking or other means to keep abreast of developments.
- Organise and maintain appropriate filing systems, manual and electronic to ensure ease of access.

The Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust Transport Department provides a trust wide services across various in-patient and community sites in and around Sandwell, Wolverhampton, Dudley and Walsall. Transport outside of these areas is required on a regular basis.
The post holder will be required to undertake duties, on a daily basis, such as delivery of furniture to all Trust sites, loading and unloading of goods from cages to vehicles and to their final destination on Trust property and the moving and lifting of heavy goods.

Candidates should have a full cleaning driving license, work on their own initiative, work on their own or part of a team and have a flexible approach to work is essential.
