Job summary
To provide an effective and efficient Front-Line Reception and Estates &Facilities administration Service across the BCHFT Trust, to ensure acustomer-focused service is maintained across 24/7 period. This will involve interaction with all levels of Trust Staff, Patients, Carers, Visitors, External Contractors and Emergencies Services.To undertake all associated Reception Duties to facilitate the smooth running of the department over the operating period.The post holder will be required to demonstrate a significant level of initiative in organising their workload and may require to give direction to other reception staff whilst taking decisions and action within guidance from ownsupervision and on call managers.Assist in the provision of a comprehensive administrative and clerical service across various disciplines/services within Facilities to enable them to function efficiently. All duties outlined are appropriate to the grade and the actual duties will be determined by the individual service/team.

See Job Description:To provide a Front-Line Reception Service, ensuring a customer-focusedservice is delivered.To monitor and maintain the reception area during busy times ensuring the continued safety of staff, visitors and patients in associated with receptionduties.To assess and where possible defuse volatile situations involving patients,visitors or staff in the Hospital main entrance.To maintain and uphold the organisation's Smoke Free Policy.To provide an efficient, customer-focused service when dealing with incomingand outgoing calls to the department.To maintain the link/reference point of access for the organisation to security services, estates and facilities and interpreting out of hours services matching need with response.To provide an out of hour's gateway for all internal and external queries to the organisation, including, but not restricted to: social services; management; medical teams; police and correctly sign-posting any queries to the appropriate service, individual or team.To report and log all personal safety alarm activations for the hospital.To report and address any problems with Hospital systems i.e. fire alarm /issues with main hospital telephone lines, Tele directory, Pinpoint Personal Alarm System.
