Job summary
This is a great opportunity for a proactive, enthusiastic and highly motivated candidate to join our Digital Data and Technology (DDaT) IT engineering team.The Trust has received significant national investments to facilitate front line digitisation and digital innovation across the Trust. Over the coming years we will be deploying many new systems and technologies, alongside maintaining an excellent level of business as usual, continuity of service and support to our users.This role will provide opportunities to extend your existing skillset and have exposure to new systems to enhance your learning and develop even further.We rely on the team to lead technically on development projects and to provide subject matter expertise in all aspects of our areas of service provision.The DDaT IT team are currently based at Heath Lane Hospital in West Bromwich B70 2BG. Our new base, circa April 2024, will be at Peartree Lane, Dudley (DY2 OUW). We operate hybrid working, agreed with management, ensuring effective resourcing across sites and working hours commitments.The successful candidate will be expected to participate in an out of hours 3rd line on call rota

Main duties of the job
The key responsibility of the postholder is to:
- To communicate effectively with users, technical staff and project teams alike across all ability levels to interpret customer requests into practical, secure and resilient application of the systems.
- To work on Business As Usual (BAU) tasks related to existing infrastructure and services.
- To work on infrastructure projects in order to develop and improve the current systems, platforms and infrastructures.
- Provide technical guidance to other members of the Digital Services team to enable them to provide support to users within the organisation.
- The role will work closely with and support our Infrastructure Architect on VMware, server support, 365, SharePoint, Azure and general server architecture tasks.
- The successful candidate will be part of a small cohesive team, which is responsible for managing and maintaining the network and server infrastructure, data and voice services, along with providing third line technical support and consultation to our colleagues and customers.This particular role will focus on Servers, VMware and server infrastructure related tasks.
