There is an exciting opportunity to join our acute Adult Mental Health inpatient service at Hallam Street Hospital in Sandwell and Penn Hospital in Wolverhampton as a Band 7 Night co-ordinator.
There are 4 vacancies available, successful candidates will be aligned to one of the acute wards on the site you are allocated to and will work closely with the inpatient management teams
Main duties of the job
You will be expected to hold the senior nurse bleep cover, have management input and responsibility to oversee any incidents that occur and support staff in regards to these incidents.
You will provide professional and clinical leadership to the team, be responsible for staff supervision and for creating a positive effective workforce and culture, making sure audit deadlines are met and that any quality improvements are implemented in your areas effectively.
You will be expected to hold the senior nurse bleep, have management input, co-ordinate and oversee any incidents that occur and support staff in regards to these incidents.
You will maintain and develop high standards of care pertaining to the mental and physical wellbeing of patients and promoting a person centred approach to patients.
You will have a dynamic approach to problem solving in a busy environment, using all of your management and clinical skillsto deal with other professionals involved in admissions, discharges, emergencies and other agencies, having confidence in your decision making
You will be responsible for the hospital site you are working on and ensure safe staffing is maintained, in some areas you will have oversight of 136 units and will support with safe bed flow and capacity.
You will be expected to manage and oversee any patient and family or carer concerns
There is an expectation to support management of staff working nights, including supervision, training, and support with performance
