Job summary
We are looking for a suitably experienced, professionally qualified CAMHS clinician to work within our CAMH Services and local commissioners to assess the needs of young people referred to our External Placement Panel.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, forward thinking, highly experienced CAMHS clinician who can demonstrate evidence of providing strong clinical leadership ensuring evidence based interventions are being delivered within a range of environments. An excellent understanding of risk management in CAMHS, excellent communication skills, report writing and the ability to practice as an autonomous practitioner are essential, whilst working in multiple partnerships with health, education and social care workforce.

Main duties of the job
To work as an autonomous CAMHS clinician assessing children and young people who have been placed in out of area placements through the External Placement Panel (EPP) of Walsall and Dudley. These triparty panels (health, education and social care) assess the applicants for out of area placement when they present with mental health and/or education and/or social care needs or education and social care needs.
The clinicians will work closely with CAMHS teams to ensure multi-disciplinary assessment of mental health need is undertaken prior to presentation to the EPP, they will also work closely with C&YP social workers and education provisions to ensure their perspective is shared and when appropriate joint assessments are undertaken.
The clinician will also ensure that C&YP have regular mental health assessments to ensure that their mental health needs are met within placement and to report back to the EPP on findings.
