Please note that there may be a need to work from other localities within the Trust as and when needed (eg; Wolverhampton, Sandwell, Walsall and Dudley).
This is a new post to support the Medical Education Department which works across all the localities and divisions in Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, together with working closely and in liaison with the Director of Medical Education.
We are looking to recruit a Band 6 Medical Education & Junior Medical Staffing Manager to help manage the delivery and evaluation of undergraduate and postgraduate training, the professional development activity and strategic direction to meet the educational standards for medical students and doctors in training set by Health Education England (HEE).
Main duties of the job
You will be supporting the Director of Medical Education and the College Tutors as well as managing the Medical Education & Junior Medical Staffing Administrators within the Medical Education Team.
You will be leading on, managing and overseeing rotations for Junior Doctors in a smooth and professional manner, providing advice and guidance as required. You will provide specialist knowledge, advice and guidance on postgraduate medical education related matters for all medical staff and managers within the Trust.
The postholder will be responsible for day to day management of the resources and budgets for medical education and training. They will also be responsible for the collation and monitoring of financial reports, including the submission of the quarterly LDA return and locum expenditure reports. You will be expected to lead and represent the Department/Trust when dealing with external bodies such as GMC, HEE, School Board and Universities.
You will also have an up-to-date knowledge of the 2016 Junior Doctor Contract and EWTD, knowledge of medical education training processes, the GMC framework and statutory regulations.
Candidates need to be extremely organised, able to multi-task, prioritise and implement systems to support the needs of the service and tasks being undertaken. Attention to detail, as well as being able to work as part of a team and on your own initiative is essential. You should have excellent communication skills and be a problem solver.

Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust provides specialist mental health, learning disability, and community healthcare services for the population of the Black Country locality in the West Midlands. The trust was formed on 1 April 2020. This was after NHS England and NHS Improvement approved the merger of Black Country Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and Dudley and Walsall Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust.
The Medical Directorate supports 4 x Divisional Medical Directors, 3 x Associate Medical directors, 10 x Clinical Directors, all Consultants and SAS Doctors across Black Country boroughs of Walsall, Dudley, Sandwell and Wolverhampton. There is mix of both district wide and locality based services covering inpatient and community settings.
