Job summary
Please note that the successful applicant will be expected to travel between Dudley and Sandwell CAMHS teams. In addition they may also be required to cover and support in other areas of the Black Country CAMHS service.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 8b Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy posts for 3 days a week to work across Dudley and Sandwell CAMHS. We are looking for an Association of Child Psychotherapists (ACP) registered, qualified Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist to delivery psychoanalytic psychotherapy treatment, supervision and leadership across our Dudley and Sandwell CAMHS teams. The successful applicant may also be expected to work across Walsall and Wolverhampton CAMHS teams from time to time

Main duties of the job

Overview of main duties of this role
- Caseload management and highly specialised clinical judgement to be made for referrals into the Psychotherapy Department for intervention.
- Provision of psychotherapeutic assessments.
- Implementation of a range of psychotherapeutic interventions for children, young people and their families.
- Provision of expert consultation and supervision for CAMHS staff, other staff in the organisation and external agencies. This will include working with external agencies in thinking about the needs of the children to be placed in the residential settings or those children already placed there.
- Supervision of Band 8a/ 7 Child and Adolescent Psychotherapists and Trainee Child as appropriate and members of the Multi-Disciplinary Team as appropriate. This will entail liaising with the Training School in collaboration with the Lead Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist and the Service Manager/Clinical Lead of relevant services.
- Maintenance of professional standards and those of the Trust, producing information and outcomes relating to the worked carried out.
