Job summary

This is an exciting new opportunity to work with the Consultant Psychology Leads within the Mental Health Division to develop and embed a new branch of psychological input into the Complex Recovery Team across the Black Country.

The main aims of the Team are to repatriate service users who currently reside in Out of Area Placements and to assertively stabilize and rehabilitate them in the community. In addition, The Team aims to contain and prevent the escalation of the most complex and difficult to engage service users in the area, thus preventing acute admissions or referrals to placements. The service users will usually present with Severe and Enduring Mental illness, such as Schizophrenia and Bipolar and highly complex emotional needs, often attracting diagnoses of personality disorder, have histories of severe trauma, dual diagnosis, co-morbid conditions and present with high risk.

We are looking for a highly clinically skilled and experienced psychologist who is passionate about working directly with difficult and challenging presentations. Preferably, they will have post qualification training in models such as DBT, Schema Focussed Therapy or EMDR. They will be prepared to push their limits of understanding and developing, within the safety of regular supervision, further training and the support of the Team.
