This is an exciting opportunity to join a male acute ward. This role will be overseeing staff and working a deputy ward manager.

Reports To: Ward Manager, Inpatient Lead

Directorate/Department: Mental Health Acute Inpatient Services

Salary Range: Band 6

Main duties of the job

To manage and very busy and dynamic ward with an established management team.

To work with, promote and contribute to the development of appropriate models of inpatient care.

To contribute to the assessment of care needs, development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care within the context of the care programme approach.

To provide supervision and clinical leadership to junior nursing staff, to ensure effective delivery of programmes of care for the patients on the caseload.

To report and identify service deficit limitations/development opportunity to senior colleagues.

To monitor the well being of patients and contribute to the development of practice in relation to protecting individuals whose health and well being is at risk.

To ensure effective communication with the multi disciplinary team, service users and carers about programmes of care and routine or complex matters

To manage safeguarding and complex case management on a busy female acute ward.
