Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated psychiatrist to join our Black Country Perinatal Mental Health service, (covering Dudley, Walsall, Wolverhampton, and Sandwell) as a 8 PA Substantive Consultant .The post holder will provide leadership and clinical expertise to the new Dudley and Sandwell Perinatal Mental Health Team.
Main duties of the job
This service will operate as a hub and spoke whole system delivering services and clinics across the Black Country and West Birmingham STP.
Provide Consultant Psychiatrist input to the Perinatal Service's patients in a community setting in line with the agreed job plan. This includes assessments of women's mental health and mother infant relationships and related risks, bio-psycho-social diagnostic formulations, exploration of prevention, treatment and care options, clear communication and shared decision making with patients (and families as appropriate), communication and joint planning with other professionals and agencies by the most effective means, use of appropriate legal statutes and powers where necessary for good patient care.
