Job summary

We are seeking to recruit enthusiastic & committed five Band 6 RMN's to our two Treatment Teams. You will be part of a dynamic and supportive multi-disciplinary team. Part of the role, you be involved in work on the Treatment Team duty system. You will lead in the development and implementation of therapeutic interventions as underpinned by the Care Programme Approach.

You will be a Registered Mental Health Nurse, ideally with previous experience of working in community mental health services. The role will involve assessing and formulating individual intervention plans and outcome measures for adults with mental health problems and you will need to have up to date knowledge of NHS policies and practices in mental health.

Main duties of the job

Your role will include working as a Care Co-Ordinator where you will have responsibility for managing a caseload of service users with mental health needs who have been referred to the team

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate with staff at all levels both, internal and external , patients , carers, external agencies
  • Ability to work own initiative
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Experience of working with individuals with severe mental illness.
  • Experience of working in multi-disciplinary clinical teams.
  • Working knowledge of relevant legislation and guidelines including MHA 1983 and CPA
  • Working knowledge of risk management
  • Knowledge of person centred care
  • Demonstrates the belief that individuals with mental health problems should be enabled to achieve maximum possible independence and should be cared for in the least segregated and coercive setting possible
  • Demonstrates a belief in choice and involving recipients of care, their relatives and significant others in all discussions regarding need and service

  • Effective IT skill including the ability to operate Microsoft office software packages to include email
  • Knowledge of BME community and needs of this group
