Job summary
We are looking to recruit 3 Band 6 Occupational Therapists to the newly established Older Adult Therapy Service (OATS), this is a great opportunity to join a thriving and expanding Older Adult Occupational Therapy Service. The post holder will be an essential member of the Older Adult therapy team, using evidence based, client centred and recovery focused practice to enhance the lives of older adults living within the Black Country. The service is based on a 'hub and spoke' model and the successful candidate will be based within one of the 3 spokes across the Black Country locality.
There are currently 3 vacancies available within this newly established multi disciplinary service and successful candidates will be offered a choice of their preferred location base across Sandwell, Wolverhampton or Dudley.
Main duties of the job
To provide specialist Occupational Therapy to older adults living within the community. The post holder will assess, plan, implement and evaluate group based interventions within community settings, providing Occupational Therapy and recovery based interventions to older adults with mental health needs. Group based interventions will be evidenced based providing clear, measurable outcomes for older adults with mental health needs in a variety of community locations.
Within the Black Country Healthcare Foundation Trust we are committed to providing high standards of care using profession specific evidence based tools based upon the Model of Human Occupation, therefore, a good working knowledge and application of the model within practice is required.
The post holder will be able to ensure ongoing monitoring, evaluation and modification of group based interventions and treatments to ensure that outcomes are effective and person centred.
The post holder will be required to develop collaborative robust partnerships with third sector organisations in order to enhance clinical outcomes and pathways, therefore, good communication skills and ability to articulate the role of Occupational Therapy is essential.

You will provide one to one and group interventions to older adults who have complex needs including those with dementia. You will contribute to staff training, reflective practice, and service development.
