Older Adult Urgent Care Mental Health Services - Walsall and Wolverhampton AHP Therapy Teams based at Bloxwich and Penn Hospital

37.5 hours per week
Working alongside Allied Health Professional staff you will contribute to the delivery and management of Older Adult Inpatient Therapy services. This will include ensuring the delivery of Occupational Therapy and AHP assessments, individualised treatment programmes and group work in our inpatient settings in line with the Model of Human Occupation and Recovery Model. Sitting within the Older Adult urgent care inpatient AHP team, you will be a highly valued member of the multi-disciplinary team and actively involved in MDT decision making processes.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide clinical leadership and operational management to the AHP Therapy team within Walsall and Wolverhampton older adult inpatient localities within the Black Country. These teams are based within Bloxwich and Penn Hospital. There has been a substantial investment in inpatient AHP services as the trust is committed to providing a high-quality therapeutic service, this includes a therapeutic state of the art hospital building that is currently being built within Walsall. Furthermore, there is continuing investment in multidisciplinary AHP service provision within Walsall and Wolverhampton locations.
Successful applicants will have excellent communication and team working skills; have a good awareness of risk and managing risk; have excellent time management and professional conduct. This role will facilitate your professional development and equip you with range of leadership skills. You will be supported by regular clinical and management supervision, ongoing CPD opportunities and encouraged to contribute to the development of the wider older adult mental health allied health professional services.

This post offers you an opportunity to extend your knowledge, skills and development within this rewarding leadership role at a time of transformation of inpatient mental health services. As an Occupational Therapy Team Lead - Band 7 you will contribute to the operational and professional leadership of AHP colleagues, including, support workers, Physiotherapist and Speech and Language therapists within inpatient older adult mental health services across Walsall and Wolverhampton inpatient locations.
The post holder will be a key member of the Mental Health Services Clinical and Management Team and will contribute to the overall management of those services. As an Occupational Therapy Team lead you will be responsible to the Service Manager and AHP Lead for Older Adult Mental Health, having designated responsibility for professional leadership and co-ordination of the AHP team as well as delivering complex occupational therapy assessments and interventions to Older Adults within inpatient services.
