Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, suitably motivated, experienced and skilled RMN to join our award winning criminal Justice team and be part of the trailblazing Mental Health Justice Service based across the Black Country ( includes; Dudley; Sandwell; Walsall & Wolverhampton)

You must be committed to providing the highest quality of care to service users, carers and partnerships demonstrating a confident ability to work autonomously in achieving commissioned outcomes. You must have interpersonal skills of the highest order to liaise with numerous professionals within co-productive teams.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will hold a case load of predominantly mentally disordered offenders of working age experiencing varying complex vulnerabilities such as social exclusion, housing and dual diagnoses, neuro-diversity etc.

About us

The post holder will need to be able to travel between appointments and settings daily, these being local and national in a practical, timely and cost effective manner.

The post holder will be provided with required IT resources to enable hybrid working from multiple environments in offices, partner environments, community and home enabling flexible working for service provision.

Job responsibilities

You will work within various settings of the Criminal Justice System (CJS) e.g. the courts, prisons, probation, approved premises etc. providing specialist mental health assessments and treatment, advice to other professionals regarding risk and care pathways. You will work with defining step-down and transition pathways for those in national secure care settings. The court environment will be within this remit enabling assessments and reports for Mental Health Treatment Requirements as part of the national agenda.

Post registration experience of working with this client group is desirable. The post requires working under limited supervision and the desirable candidate would be someone who is organised, articulate and able to manage their time effectively. You will have responsibility for managing a complex caseload. The post holder will be pro-active in undertaking Needs and Risk Assessment of service users and the development and implementation of recovery focussed treatment plans and outcomes.
