To provide a short term counselling to clients referred to the service. To be able to attend the Counselling for Depression Course with the University of Nottingham.
This work to be undertaken in line with the policies of the Wolverhampton Healthy Minds Counselling Service and Black Country Health Foundation NHS Trust (BCHFT)

Permanent subject to completing the course
Shift work across 9am-5pm Monday-Friday

The counselling service sits within Black Country Healthcare Foundation Trust. The service comprises of approximately 7 counsellors. The Counselling Service takes referrals from GPs in the Wolverhampton area, of adults with mild to moderate depression or anxiety, life event adjustment difficulties or relationship problems. The work is short term (average 6 sessions) and takes place in GP practices: most of the work is on a one to one basis. Ideally candidates should have experience of working in a primary care setting and must have a minimum of a Level 5 Diploma in Counselling and 400 hours supervised counselling practice.
The successful applicant may be based in any of the GP surgeries in Wolverhampton, according to service need. The post holder will be required to support the Trust Mental Helpline as needed, in addition to working as part of the IAPT team.
