Job summary
The Research and Innovation (R&I) team are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and committed Clinical Research Assistant (CRA) to join the team at Black Country Healthcare.
A passionate and dedicated CRA joining our growing team will contribute to our ability to support and deliver high quality research across the Black Country. The CRA will support the research delivery team with research across CAMHS, Learning Disabilities, Mental Health and Older Adults. They will also support Urgent Public Health studies when required. The post holder will be required to work across the four localities: Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall and Wolverhampton.

Main duties of the job
The Clinical Research Assistant job is pivotal in the efficient day-to-day running of NIHR portfolio research trials, supporting the trial's Principal Investigator and research staff.
The CRA will provide clinical research and administrative support to the R&I team and Trust clinical services and will support the R&I team to recruit research participants to mental health, social care, learning disabilities and dementia clinical research studies whilst working in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
This job includes facilitation of study set-up, identification of potential research participants, and ensuring that research studies are conducted in accordance with the study protocol, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), Research Governance and local Trust guidelines, resulting in the collection of reliable and high quality data.
The job requires the use of detailed knowledge of the mental health related trial protocols, their application in practice, understanding the research methodology and the ability to adhere to local, national and international research regulations.
About us
The Research and Innovation team at BCHFT are experienced in delivering a variety of studies from NIHR portfolio and non-portfolio trials to commercial trials including clinical trials of investigational medicinal products (CTIMPs). The CRA role will include a variety of clinical and non-clinical responsibilities and will be supported by senior members of the teams when appropriate.
The CRA will join an R&I team that works closely with other teams across BCHFT to advocate for research involvement, and increase the visibility of research across the Trust.
