Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our supportive and dynamic Community Recovery Service North Dudley.

We pride ourselves on our commitment to the continual development and improvement of patientcare. We work with working age adultswith complex mental health needs. Our focus is on recovery andyour role will be instrumental in this.

Main duties of the job

You will be expected to work with a variety of service users withinthe communityusing specialist assessments and interventions. We currently use the Model of Human Occupationwithin the OT service. You will be expectedto complete assessments and provide treatment on an individualand groupbasis.

You will be responsible for your own caseload, of people who have occupational therapy needs for whom you will be the care coordinator. This involves working with the multi-disciplinary team, other agencies and community services. Empowering patients to promote their own recovery and working towards their goals using your excellent assessment skills and the ability to plan, implement and evaluate care in a MDT setting.

You will need to effectively manage your caseload and be flexible and adaptable to respond to the needs of the service. You will be working under the guidance of a band 7 OT, who will provide you with regular clinical and professional supervision.

You will be expected to provide practice placements for Occupational Therapy studentswithin the trust, as part of the trust wide placement expansion project.
