Are you a dynamic and forward thinking Nursery Nurse/Early Years Worker? We are looking for experienced Practitioners who are passionate about improving outcomes for children and families in the Dudley Borough. Your role will be to support the delivery of The Healthy Child Programme 0-5 to families. This will involve individual and group work in homes, child health clinics, and Childrens Centre's. Each Community Nursery Nurse will be expected to complete the Competency Framework as provided by BCPFT. You will work as a member of the Health Visiting Team under the direction of a Health Visitor and you will be well supported and supervised to provide a high quality service to families at one to one and group contacts.
It is essential that you have experience of interacting with children and families and that you have a clear understanding of Safeguarding. You will need to have excellent time management and communication skills and some knowledge of information technology.
Main duties of the job
- To support the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme for children 0-5 and their families as delegated by and under the supervision of the Health Visitor/Health Visitor Team Leader
- To safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people and to adhere to the BCHFT Safeguarding Children Policy and Local Safeguarding Children Board Policies and Procedures
- To assist with or plan and implement developmental reviews as delegated by and under the supervision of the Health Visitor
- To work with targeted families providing advice and support in response to identified health, social or special needs in the home and other venues as delegated by and under the supervision of the Health Visitor
- To support complex and vulnerable families as delegated by and under the supervision of the Health Visitor
- To plan and implement Health Promotion activity both for individuals and groups within the local and national Public Health agenda and according to identified need as delegated by and under the supervision of the Health Visitor
- To participate in child health clinics in conjunction with the Health Visitor
- To promote breastfeeding as per the BCHFT Breast feeding Policy
- To offer advice to parents and carers on the development, health and behaviour of the child discussing any concerns with the Health Visitor and to refer to other agencies as directed and appropriate in line with policy
