Job summary
The Department of Paediatric Plastic
Surgery provides secondary care for the population of southern and central
Birmingham, tertiary care for the West Midlands and Supra Regional care for
Burns and Cranio-Facial Surgery. There is a close working relationship within
the team and a very supportive and educational environment.
Main duties of the job
This post will include daily ward rounds
and trauma list commitments. The successful candidate will be rotating through
all subspecialties within the department including Burns Surgery, Cleft
Surgery, Hand and Upper Limb Surgery. The post includes a 1 in 8/9 12 hour
shift on call commitment in Plastic surgery.
The successful candidate should demonstrate sufficient knowledge in the
management of childrens hand trauma. The successful applicant will be expected
to participate in audit/research.
This is a senior middle grade post with
responsibilities, training and experience equivalent to a Specialist Trainee. The successful applicant will be able to
demonstrate successful completion of a Plastic Surgery Training Programme or
equivalent, or to have passed the specialist exit examination in Plastic
Surgery or equivalent.
