Job summary

Applications are now invited for the part-time post of Deputy Head of Specialist Clinical Teaching Academy at Birmingham Childrens Hospital. The successful candidate will assist the Head of Specialist Clinical Teaching Academy in leading and managing undergraduate clinical education at Birmingham Childrens Hospital and be the main intermediaries between the Medical Schools at The University of Birmingham and Aston University and the Trust.

Appointments will be for 12 months (extendable to 3 years) in the first instance. Deputy Heads of Academy will undertake their role alongside their clinical duties. One PA will be available within the successful candidates job plan (which should be no more than 12 PAs including this) for discharge of the Deputy Head of Academy role (to be agreed with the Clinical Director and consultant team colleagues on appointment).

Main duties of the job

Applicants should be existing Trust consultants or equivalent in good standing with a demonstrable interest in and commitment to undergraduate medical education.
