Job summary
The purpose of the role is to provide efficient and effective professional leadership to the Enhanced Maternal Care (EMC)service within Birmingham Women's Hospital and oversight of the provision of midwifery outreach to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, University Hospitals Birmingham (QEUHB).
There will be strong leadership in theEMC serviceto ensure the highest possible care standards, and to ensure the monitoring and reporting of care, with family and staff feedback.There will be excellent team working with the multidisciplinary team, the other areas of Maternity, Neonatal Unit and the wider Division of Women's, the LocalMaternity and NeonatalSystem (LMNS)and IntegratedCareSystem (ICS). Main duties of the job
This role will require flexibility to support staff and the service which may include unsocial hours.
Birmingham Women's Hospital is one of two dedicated women's hospitals in the UK, with the busiest single site maternity unit, delivering more than 8,200 babies a year offering a full range ofgynaecological,maternityand neonatal care.
The post is an integral part of thematernity service,working primarily with clinicians, operationalleadsand stakeholders to support and oversee delivery of theEMC processesand governance to support an effective patient care pathway.
The post-holderwill make informed decisions within their area of responsibility, work to set deadlines, dealing with a complex and varied workload while ensuring agreed standards and targets are met.
The post holder will work directly with members ofthe seniormanagement teamto provide effective and innovative support to theEMCmaternity serviceincluding providing knowledge, data input and analysis concerning service improvement and effectiveutilizationof resources.
