Job summary

The CF Specialist Nursewill workwith the Cystic Fibrosis team and all other key health professionals involved in the care of children and young people with Cystic Fibrosis (CF).

Main duties of the job

Working closely with the Cystic Fibrosisnursing team, the post holderwill assistinthe implementation ofspecialist nursing skills, knowledge and expertise in the care and management of children and adolescents withCystic Fibrosis.

The post holder willbe requiredto;

  • Supportthe senior CFnurse specialistsin initiating care programmes, developing services and using effective approaches to meet the needs of this group of patients and families.

  • Work in a variety of settings within the community.Establishing links across the primary/secondary/tertiary care interface will be an important part of the role.

  • Support children and young people with CF and their families in hospital within wards,EDand outpatient settings and in educationalsetting.

  • The post holder willparticipatein audit and research within the CF nursing team.
