Job summary
Post holder will be part of the Financial Accounting team. Work with the Deputy Director of Finance (DDoF) and the Head of Financial Accounting (Head of FA) to complete the annual accounts, ensuring consistency with the TACs and other information submitted to NHS England (NHSE) as the Trust's regulator and the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC).
A qualified CCAB/CIMA accountant, the post holder must have good interpersonal skills and be able to liaise effectively with staff at all levels within the organisation as well as staff in other NHS and non-NHS organisations. The post holder will be able to work to strict deadlines and be capable of working under pressure and autonomously within defined standards and policies.
We are seeking a highly motivated individual who meets the essential criteria outlined in the person specification. While we recognise that some aspects of the role involve complex, technical, and specialist areas, full support and training will be provided to enable you to develop the necessary expertise.
Main duties of the job
Work with the Deputy Director of Finance (DDoF) and the Head of Financial Accounting (Head of FA) to complete the annual accounts, ensuring consistency with the TACs and other information submitted to NHS England (NHSE) as the Trust's regulator and the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC).
Undertake completion of the Trust Accounts Consolidation forms (TACs) in accordance with appropriate finance regimes, including International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), International Accounting Standards (IAS), the Foundation Trust Annual Reporting Manual (FT ARM) the Department of Health and Social Care Group Accounting Manual (DHSC GAM), HM Treasury's Financial Reporting Manual (the HMT FReM) and any updates as and when they are adopted for Foundation Trusts.
The post holder will work with the wider finance and contracting team, Trust subsidiaries, managers, our outsourced financial service provider (currently NHS Shared Business Services (NHS SBS)), internal auditors, external auditors, individual staff and other relevant stakeholders.
