Job summary
The post holder is responsible for working in an interdisciplinary manner to provide effective care for children/adolescents with Craniofacial conditions and Neurosurgical conditions through the role of expert practitioner, role model and patient/parent advocate. Provide specialist knowledge to statutory and charitable organisations locally and nationally.
Main duties of the job
To provide specialist clinical nursing expertise to support the delivery of safe and effective treatmentof care for babies, children and young people.
Plan and organise specialist nursing workload in accordance to agreed local protocols, or as directed by the Senior Nurse Specialists or Consultants.
Undertake specialist clinical assessments and clinical interventions that are aligned to agreed protocols for babies, children and young people with neurosurgical/craniofacial conditions.
Develop and implement programmes of care and provide specialised advice for babies, children, young people and families.
Within agreed protocols - analyse complex facts, situations or investigation results and then take appropriate clinical decisions.
Work in collaboration with the Consultant and Registrar teams regarding highly complex patient management treatment planning and decision making.
