We are looking for a clinical psychologist to join our citywide community Autism Assessment Team within the mental health division and the Transition Hub within St Basils. This is a split post working with two specialist multi-disciplinary team and if you are passionate about developing services and delivering high quality input to homeless and neurodiverse people then we would love to hear from you.

We are looking for someone to join the Therapies service in Forward Thinking Birmingham who is full of enthusiasm and ideas. There is lots of change going on within Forward Thinking Birmingham and we are hoping to employ someone who will jump right in and get involved. The role here will be to ensure the provision of highly specialist clinical psychology services to clients under the care of the Transition Hub and Autism Assessment Team and you will be provided with all of the training you need to deliver specialist, evidence based psychological input.

Main duties of the job

For the Transition Hub, the postholder will be an integral member of the Transition Hub MDT comprised St Basils housing and support staff, Substance Misuse workers (Aquarius) and FTB colleagues. The Hub provides specialist accommodation for Young People who've experienced homelessness and multiple/severe disadvantage. The postholder will ensure provision of highly specialist clinical psychology services to Young People accessing Transition Hub to include psychological assessment, comprehensive risk assessment and work collaboratively to develop a holistic formulation-driven understanding of difficulties/needs, deliver interventions focused on stabilization and support transition to appropriate move-on accommodation. St Basils is a Psychologically Informed Environment (PIE). The postholder will be required to deliver advice, consultation, training, and supervision in line with the PIE approach.

For the Autism Assessment Team (AAT), postholder will join AAT within FTB that provides specialist assessment for children, young people and young adults. The post holder will provide specialist assessment as part of MDT, offer consultation and training to colleagues across FTB, deliver post diagnostic input to young people, promote needs of autistic people. Post holder will have the opportunity to work with a small caseload of clients from core community teams to maintain therapy skills.
