Administrative assistant for Medical education Team Band 4 - 37.5 hours per week
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as a member of our team in Education and Learning Department. We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to the Medical Education Team.
The postholder will provide administrative support within the Medical Education team to the Head of Academy, Clinical Tutor and the undergraduate and postgraduate team for paediatric and child health. The postholder will be expected to maintain effective liaison and communication with the University of Birmingham and Aston University Medical Schools, Royal Colleges, Academy staff, medical students, postgraduate doctors and other outside agencies where required. Responsibilities of the post include the recruitment of examiners, co-ordination of medical examinations, allocation of students to consultant teams and Senior Academic Tutors, student induction, preparation of timetables, recruitment of lecturers for the UGME & PGME teaching programme and the collation of student and doctor information packs etc. The postholder will be expected to help and assist students and doctors during their attachments at Birmingham Women's & Children's NHS Foundation Trust and will be one of the first points of contact for them.

Main duties of the job
To provide comprehensive administrative support to the Medical Education Admin Teams and to assist with the provision of medical education support in the organisation. The post-holder will undertake duties primarily for the Heads of Academy, Clinical Sub-Dean, Clinical Teaching Fellows, Postgraduate Medical Education and the Undergraduate & Postgraduate Co-ordinators including assisting with the organisation and support of external examinations and assessments, assist with the development and co-ordination of the undergraduate and postgraudate induction programmes, dealing with enquiries from students, Medical Schools, postgraduate doctors, education centre users etc, ensure the implementation of University and BWCH policies, provide pastoral support and signposting to medical students and postgraduate doctors. In addition the post holder will assist with answering telephone calls and emails, supporting courses and study days, minute taking, reception duties, copy-typing, data entry. Assist with the co-ordination of room bookings on the Bookwise Education system and assist with the housekeeping duties pertaining to bookings when necessary. To ensure that the Education Centres remains an efficient and well-ordered environment in which educational and learning activity can take place
