Applications are invited for a Band 4 Medical Secretary within the Gynaecology Directorate of Birmingham Womens Hospital and Childrens NHS Foundation Trust.
This Trust is a centre of excellence in specialist healthcare for women, children and their families in the West Midlands. As a large regional centre we provide many specialist services for the West Midlands and beyond as well as midwife led services for our local community. With a very diverse community and 8250 births a year we would like to invite applicants with experience of working within the NHS in a Medical secretarial role.
Main duties of the job
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Medical Secretary to join our Secretarial team, offering administrative support to the wider clinical teams.

- AMSPAR or equivalent vocational qualification/related work experience
- Minimum GCSE English grade C or above
- RSAIII typewriting/audio-typewriting or equivalent
- ECDL or equivalent relevant experience
- Medical Terminology to RSA level or equivalent working experience

Knowledge/Experience

- Experience as a PA/Medical Secretary
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite i.e. word processing, Powerpoint, database & spreadsheet skills, etc
- A good understanding of Information Governance issues and requirements
