Job summary

A pro-active, enthusiastic and self-confident individual with proven administrative, secretarial and organisational skills is required to work with the KIDSNTS team and the West Midlands Paediatric Critical Care Network. Support will be given to the KIDSNTS Consultants with establishing robust regional internal governance systems, Human Resource Processes and other key responsibilities as outlined below. The individual will be based between the KIDSNTS Office and the WMPCCN team.

This successful candidate will work flexibly over 37.5 hours per week between Monday and Friday, providing direct support to the KIDSNTS multi-disciplinary team to assist in a number of vital roles.

Main duties of the job

  • Undertake administrative duties for Network and KIDSNTS Consultants regarding governance and network process. Provide a comprehensive service in administrative duties, diary management, meeting arrangements, presentation, preparation and follow up.
  • Utilise advanced typing/keyboard skills and word processing abilities to produce accurate, timely, well-presented documentation and confidential correspondence.
  • Maintain and establish processes with the KIDSNTS senior management team for improving IT functionality to produce critical incident report summaries and service data on a monthly basis.
  • Maintain and establish processes with BWCH Clinical Governance Department for managing KIDSNTS Critical Incidents, SIRIs, RCAs, complaints and PALS contacts.
  • Produce reports and summaries as required by KIDSNTS Consultants. This will involve preparation of case-note compilations and electronic presentations of clinical activity information.
  • Work for 5 hours per week with the West Midlands Paediatric Critical Care Network. This may involve travelling to other hospitals or meeting venues in the West Midlands, and working alongside regional clinicians, nurses or project managers.
  • Work alongside the WMPCCN Clinical Governance Lead to promote, coordinate and support stakeholders to ensure accurate records are entered into PaediCRID and timely responses to investigations are received.
