Job summary
Do you have a passion for using information to help service managers and clinicians deliver effective high-quality services that make a real difference to service users and carers?
Our Information Team works closely with operational services to continuously develop reporting systems and analytical services to help meet this challenge, and we are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic Information Manager to join us and make substantial contributions to leading the team with this work. The role is to lead a team of analysts providing a high-quality information service, carrying out complex analytical and reporting projects and supporting operational services to identify information requirements and make effective use of information to support their work.
This is a really exciting time to join Birmingham Women's and Children's Hospital as we are embarking on a project to implement the a new electronic patient record system (EPIC) in our hospitals.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work effectively with a wide range of colleagues and use a variety of leadership, analytical, project, communication and information management skills. This will involve a mixture of:
- Team leadership responsibility and line management responsibilities for several analytical staff working in their team, always with a focus on delivering excellent, user-friendly information that makes a real difference to how we deliver and support our services.
- complex analytical work,
- advanced automated reporting,
- project and problem-solving activities,
- designing and supporting the set up of information systems and processes,
- delivering a timetable of accurate, timely internal and external information reports
The post-holder will have the opportunity to work closely with, and develop a good knowledge and understanding of, an interesting range of NHS services, for example:
- Maternity
- Gynaecology
- Theatres and Surgery
- Medicine
- Emergency Department
