Job summary

This role is based at Birmingham Childrens Hospital.

This role will be based within the secretarial teams and shall be a progression post. The post holder will act as the secretary providing professional, confidential and comprehensive administrative support to the clinical team. You will be the first point of contact between patients and the consultant. You will be based at Birmingham Children's Hospital. The post shall be 30 hours a week.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide a comprehensive administrative service across the Neurosciences teams at Birmingham Children's Hospital. This role requires close liaison with all clinical and administrative staff. The role shall provide comprehensive administrative support for Neurology, Neurosurgery and Craniofacial. This role will require the successful candidate to provide administrative support to all clinical staff as required, ensuring letters are typed and patient pathways adhered to.

  • NVQ Level 2 Business Administration or Customer Service

  • Understanding of Microsoft Office Packages (e.g. powerpoint, word excel, access)

Desirable

  • Experience of using hospital based IT systems and electronic patient records.
  • Experience with data entry, post requires entering data into multiple sites as well as cross checking to ensure data is correct
