Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a principle Cancer Unit based at Birmingham Children's Hospital called Waterfall house, one of the UK's largest Primary Treatment Centre's for Paediatric Oncology and Haematology, and to make a real difference to the lives of families across the region affected by childhood cancer. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to work within our inpatient and out-patient Haematology/Oncology units. You will have excellent communication skills, be well organized, thrive in a busy and challenging environment, and enjoy working as a key member of a multi-professional team.
Main duties of the job
To work in collaboration with the Play and Youth Service team to meet the general and normalizing play/recreation/leisure needs of children & young people through the facilitation of activities within the designated areas within the Trust; the Play & Admissions Centre, Pre-Assessment, wards and out-patient clinic areas across the Trust.

- oPrevious relevant experience, especially in the care of children/young people aged 0-19 years
- oKnowledge of the importance of play and how development can affect this
- oKnowledge of development

- oKnowledge and understanding of issues relating to safe guarding and cultural and diversity awareness
