Job summary

Band 6 Infant Feeding Specialist Midwife/Nurse fixed term or secondment for 12 month period covering maternity leave.

15 hours per week based at Birmingham Womens Hospital. We also have additional hours available on our postnatal wards as a band 6 midwife or band 5 postnatal nurse.

Applications invited for a Band 6 Midwife/Nurse to support Infant Feeding at Birmingham Womens Hospital as part of the BWC Infant Feeding Team.

Main duties of the job

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and flexible practitioner with a passion for Infant Feeding to work with women, birthing people, infants and their families, enabling them to achieve their feeding goals.

  • Knowledge of BFI requirements/standards
  • Knowledge of: breastfeeding physiology, management, support and promotion
  • Able to work in a team

Qualifications

  • Registered Midwife/Nurse

Desirable

  • Additional Breastfeeding qualification eg IBCLC, LLL leader, NCT or BfN Breastfeeding Counsellor
  • Breastfeeding and Relationship Building (BF77)
