Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join our friendly team of Cross Sectional Radiographers. Candidates need to be enthusiastic, motivated and caring with a desire to work within a challenging but rewarding specialist paediatric service. The candidate will have knowledge of CT and/or MRI procedures and will have recent clinical CT and/or MRI experience providing a high quality service to all patients using best practice at all times. HCPC registration is essential.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be required to deliver a high-quality Cross-Sectional service in line with department standards procedures and protocols, organising staff, resources and activity, to deliver a safe, effective and efficient service that meets both patient/families/carers, and staff requirements.

To be responsible and accountable for undertaking all aspects of Cross-sectional imaging, employing a high level of skill and experience in a range of examinations whilst optimising the care of children and young people.

The post holder will promote a positive patient and family experience, embracing sensitivity to individual patients needs is essential. Candidates must be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.

The Cross-Sectional Imaging Department comprises of 2 CT scanner (GE Brivo and GE Discovery CT750 HD Freedom) and 3 MRI scanners (Philips Achieva 3T, Siemens Aera and Siemens Sola).

Ability to participate in a 24/7 on-call roster is essential with a response time of 30 minutes for Acute Trauma cases.

The service also supports 6 days protected study per annum/pro-rata.
