Due to the progression of the previous post holder we have
the opportunity for a dynamic and experienced pharmacy leader to join the
senior pharmacy leadership team as Deputy Chief Pharmacist. There are several
exciting projects taking place across BWC that need an enthusiastic senior
pharmacist to take a significant role in delivering, including identifying and
implementing a new EPR/EPMA system across the Trust.
We are looking for someone to lead the department and support the Chief Pharmacist to develop strategic programmes to deliver medicines optimisation and improve access to medicines for our patients.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will support
the Chief Pharmacist by leading and developing the strategic operational
delivery and performance of all aspects of Pharmacy Services, developing our
workforce and continually improving the quality of the service. They will need
to play a significant part in developing and delivering the next phase of our
Pharmacy Business Plan to progress our services to address the changes
happening in BSol ICB, the Midlands region and with NHSE commissioned services
for paediatrics, maternity, womens health, and mental health services. We
have an ambition to develop our use of technology from medicines automation to
supporting new gene therapies. We are already involved in implementing
pharmacogenomics within our services, our teams are constantly pushing the
boundaries of improving medicines use for patients with rare condition and we
have a thriving research and development programme.
Our workforce is key to delivery of our ambitions therefore
possession of excellent leadership, organisational & interpersonal skills
will be essential to enable the post holder to engage and enable teams to
accomplish their goals and maintain their wellbeing.
