This is a fantastic opportunity for a suitably qualified Registered
Nurse (RMN, RLDN, RSCN) to support the development of an exciting and
innovative team that aims to bring stability and predictability to the lives of
some of the most vulnerable young people within the West Midlands region. We are keen to
bring additional specialist knowledge of LD and autism within the development
of this part of the service from a Nurse with this experience in addition to
that gained from working within mental health services.
The Intensive Residential
Outreach Care (IROC) service is a new and unique service aimed to support the
needs of young people in care with complex psychological vulnerabilities. The
MDT comprises Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Family and Systemic and Nursing
Colleagues. This provision is hosted under the West Midlands CAMHS Provider
Collaborative programme. This post is a 12-month fixed term post; secondments can
also be considered.

Main duties of the job
Flexible working will be required in order to meet core service hours Monday-Friday . this may be subject to change as the service evolves.Hybrid working is the adopted working model and flexible working arrangements can also be considered.
The Clinical Nurse
Specialist will need to consider the additional needs of young people with LD
and Autism. The role is mainly consultancy focused as opposed to direct working
with children and young people. The Clinical Nurse Specialist will work as an
enabler of the system of care around the young person; identifying strengths
that can be optimised and inhibitors that can be care planned to navigate.
An example of duties
include:
Delivery
of the IROC programme of training to the system of care; including modules in
management of risk, care-planning and therapeutic parenting.
Offer
Care-planning and Supervision slots to the system of care
Join
with the MDT to offer the IROC Systems Assessment to new referrals
To
join to IROC MDT to provide a space for shared formulation that will inform how
interventions are scheduled and delivered.
To
convene the system of care through in a role as an IROC system coach and carry
a caseload.
The successful candidate will have
experience of navigating challenging situations, supporting within emotionally
distressing situations and formulating occupational perspectives and treatments
in an innovative way alongside the MDT.
