This is an exciting opportunity for a suitably
qualified Highly Specialist Family and Systemic Psychotherapist to provide
highly specialist assessment and intervention to the most vulnerable young
people of the West Midlands region supported under IROC.
We
are a psychology led, multi-disciplinary team that supports young people aged
13 -18 as part of the West Midlands CAMHS Provider Collaborative (WMCPC). The
team includes psychology, nursing, occupational therapy, administrators and is
expanding to incorporate a family and systemic psychotherapist.
We
work with young people at the edge of Tier 4, or those stepping down from
hospital to support stability within the community. We work systemically with
residential homes, social care, families, CAMHS and schools.
The
team has a range of expertise in trauma, therapeutic parenting, systemic and
group work, DBT and more.
Instead of focusing on
offering individual therapy to the young person, this role focuses on systemic
interventions to empower professionals and families around the young person
Main duties of the job
Principal
duties will include:
Highly specialist systemic assessment
and intervention to families and systems of children and young people who have
experienced significant and complex trauma and mental health conditions as well
as offering indirect clinical services such as advice and consultation to
colleagues and other professionals.
Involvement in service planning and
development, this will include identifying need and participating in
development plan process.
Staff support and supervision, and
facilitation of client related work undertaken by other team members.
Applied research and development
related to the needs of the children and families served and the IROC and
Family Therapy Department as a whole.
Participation in Clinical Governance
activities including Continuing Professional Development.
Participation in the IROC team operational policy, service
planning and service review process at a level appropriate to the post-holders
grade and service responsibilities.
Subject to negotiation, the post-holder will be able to develop
and pursue a special clinical interest of relevance to the locality or the
Trust as a whole.

- Post-graduate qualification in relevant mental health/social welfare profession and demonstrable practice over a minimum of four years.
- Masters/Diploma level qualification in Systemic Psychotherapy.
- The Maintenance of UKCP Registration by attendance on short or long training courses to meet CPD requirements.
