Job summary

The Genomics Education Academy (GTAC) has been newly established as part of a national initiative led in collaboration between NHS England (NHSE) and Health Education England (HEE). The GTAC offers a blended (virtual and/or in-person training experience) through a virtual academy hub and in-person spokes mapped to the NHS Genomics Laboratory Hubs (GLHs) and Genomic Medicine Service Alliances (GMSAs).

The GTAC is responsible for developing high-quality education and training content, mapped to professional curricula, underpinned by robust evaluation, and accompanied by assessment. This allows the GTAC to ensure both consistency of education / training delivery and tracking of progress both nationally and across the GLH and GMSA regions.

A range of media to support learner engagement will be utilised, including virtual reality and immersive learning. Education and training is prioritised initially for the specialist genomic laboratory staff, and specialist clinical genomic staff.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking a Project Coordinator to work with the GTAC team members, external stakeholders, contributors, and content developers to ensure efficient and effective delivery of projects relating to the roll-out of the GTAC model across the system.

The successful applicant will work within the GTAC Operational Team to develop, deliver, and monitor project plans to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of GTAC-related projects. You will work closely with clinical and professional colleagues to support any existing and planned associated work streams.

This is mainly a remote working role, with a base office in Birmingham. This will be offered as either a secondment or fixed-term contract for up to 2 years for 37.5 hours (1.0 WTE).
