This
is an amazing opportunity to join a growing Occupational Therapy service
developing our specialist core hub offer. We will be supporting our team to
develop Occupational Formulations, Occupation focussed interventions, sensory
pathways and strategies. Members of our team have been supported to developing
core OT skills as well as additional specialist modalities such as DBT,
Systemic training, BUSS, ADOS.
As
an Occupational Therapy team we provide
Monthly in service CPD
Pathway lead workshops
Professional Development 1:1
sessions with Head of OT
Supportive peer groups
This
role will allow the development of Occupational Therapy skills; independent
working, managing an Occupation Focused caseload, supporting the wider MDT
through generic tasks such as initial assessments. You will be supported by an
advanced Occupational Therapist for caseload supervision and line management.
The West Birmingham team is located at Finch rd Hub and is reflecting a full
MDT; Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Nurses, Support Workers, Peer support
workers, Family Therapists. You will have the opportunity to work with our
children, young people and families within their homes, schools, colleges;
wherever there is a need for meaningful intervention!
Main duties of the job
This job is based within the FTB West Community
Hub based currently at Finch rd. The role will include the holistic
assessment and treatment of children, young people and their families to
support their mental health. This post will manage a defined Occupational
Therapy caseload with some cover for core work. They would also provide
training and specific subjects and will work to develop and champion the role of
Occupational Therapy within the core Hubs. Occupational Therapy services cover
1:1 and group interventions in a range of settings such as home environments,
schools, primary care centres and much more!
This
post will work closely with the multidisciplinary team, the wider Occupational
Therapy service and with external partner agencies involved in the care of the
young people and young adults. Core working hours are Monday-Friday 9-5 however
flexibility to meet the needs of our children, young people and families is
preferable. A driving license and access to a car daily for work purposes is
also essential as the service is citywide. Successful applicants will be
