Job summary

An exciting opportunity has become available for an enthusiastic and motivated individual who would like to further develop within an operational management role and a complex and interesting clinical group.

The Medicine Division is seeking a talented, dynamic individual with energy, drive and a high level of interpersonal skills to join our teams supporting our Blood, Stem Cell & Cancer specialties within the Specialised Medicine Clinical Group.

Your role will be to operationally manage the department and to support the ongoing transformation work while providing clear leadership and ensuring delivery against our performance goals.

Main duties of the job

Forming part of the Management Team, the post holder will undertake a wide range of duties to support the Divisional Director of Operations, General Manager, Clinical Service Director, Associate Director of Nursing and other senior members of the clinical group management team in the delivery of performance against a broad range of objectives and targets. The post holder will also support the Divisional Team with specific projects to modernise and improve services and assist in the development of the Trust and service strategy.

This is a challenging operational role but represents an exciting opportunity for the right candidate. The role represents an ideal opportunity for the post holder to further their skills and progress their career into a senior management role.

  • Knowledge of NHS direction and policy initiatives.
  • Proven change management skills in a complex health care setting.
  • Experience in budgetary and resource management.
  • Knowledge, understanding and experience in Risk Management and Governance issues.
  • Experience in managing complex organisational change projects
  • Experience in managing NHS patient waiting lists

  • Experience in capacity and service planning within an acute health care setting.
