Senior Clinical Fellow for Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen and applications are invited for a 2 clinical fellows to join the team in the Department of Paediatric Ophthalmology at Birmingham Children's Hospital.

There are two fixed term posts available on the middle grade rota commencing August 2024 for 12 months.

Main duties of the job

Both posts within the Department of Paediatric Ophthalmology will provide general and sub-specialist training in all aspects of Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, with excellent exposure to clinics and surgery. Adult strabismus training will be at the Oxford Eye Hospital. In addition, the post holder will contribute to the delivery of care to patients in addition to the fixed clinical commitments of a weekly timetable, at the instruction of the supervising consultants. The post holder will contribute to the postgraduate activities of the service, including teaching, presentation and publication.

Applicants should possess full GMC registration and MBBS or equivalent. Applicants must also be a Native English speaker/English as a second language or have an English Language qualification.

Due to the nature of the position, the successful applicant will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
