An exciting opportunity to join the Radiology department as a lead for Governance and Quality Standards for Imaging (QSI) at the Birmingham Women's and Children's Hospital has become available.
The post holder will provide high profile specialist support to the clinical and managerial team, and to the Radiology department as a whole across Birmingham Women's Hospital and Birmingham Children's Hospital on implementing and coordinating the governance framework, quality and safety for Radiology.
The post holder will liaise with operational leads and modality leads to ensure quality standards are met across the department ensuring that clinical governance, CQC standards and key departmental metrics are met as well as monitoring, reporting and delivering on the requirements of the Quality Standards Imaging (QSI) accreditation process.
The post holder will provide operational and professional support to the Radiology Professional Manager in the delivery of the local and national radiology governance framework and engage within the clinical areas to assure high standards of care by providing direction, advice and where necessary intervention.
This role will contribute to the achievement of the radiology objectives and the required local and national quality and governance standards by ensuring that all required audits, assessments and reviews are completed within the agreed timeframes that action plans are regularly monitored and integrated into clinical practice.
Main duties of the job
- Provide leadership and support in delivery of governance requirements across the Radiology department in the Trust.
- Lead the delivery of the Quality Standards for Imaging (QSI) endorsement requirements, across the Radiology service.
- Support the training and development of clinical staff across the service in elements of governance and quality.
- Work with clinical and operational teams to support the identification, planning and delivery of quality improvement projects that support governance and QSI delivery objectives.
