Applications are invited for a Band 5 full time Medical Secretary Manager post within the Gynaecology Directorate of Birmingham Women's Hospital and Children's NHS Foundation Trust.

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join our Gynaecology Department offering managerial support within the medical secretarial team. Experience within the NHS and clinical systems would be beneficial.

Main duties of the job

Medical Secretary Manager Key Results:

To manage the Medical Secretarial staff within their Medical Secretarial Team to ensure the efficient, effective medical secretarial support to the relevant clinical speciality on a daily basis.

To support Medical Secretaries in the conduct of their role; co-ordinating training & development, and promoting career progression.

To ensure the adoption of administrative best practice, especially in respect of waiting list / patient access targets.

To encourage a culture of communication and promote the concept of effective team-working within the group.

Medical secretary awareness & compliance with relevant Trust policies.

To ensure the provision of full medical secretarial support to Consultants within the relevant speciality.
