Band 6- Senior Mental Health Practitioners- CAMHS Urgent Care

We have Senior Mental Health opportunities across Birmingham to attract you which include both our CAMHs and adult CRHT Teams. One of our brand new offices at Oleaster B15, is the FIRST in the country to offer these extended services, which will include an under 18s psychiatric decisions unit and health based place of safety.

Our Service

Our service includes patients with first episode psychosis and /or a range of mental health disorders. You may also come into contact with people with a diagnosis of Autism, personality disorder and needs related to learning disabilities.

Our Expectations

You will need to hit the ground running, therefore you will need extensive experience in a mental health setting. However, we do have some opportunities to support band 5 development roles too!

  • Professional qualification RMN / RNLD qualifications
  • Relevant Post qualifying qualification e.g. or be able to demonstrate an equivalent level of training
  • Relevant Post graduate study or be able to demonstrate further skills based training

Desirable

  • Specific qualification in a relevant therapeutic speciality e.g. counselling, Family Therapy, CBT, substance misuse
  • Nurse Prescriber

Experience

Essential

  • Extensive post registration experience in mental health care
  • Assessing and managing risk
  • Devising robust and effective care plans using SMART goals
  • De-escalation techniques
  • Use of therapeutic interventions with children and young people i.e. 1:1, counselling, family therapy and group work
  • Delivering teaching / training
  • Providing consultation
  • Liaison with inpatient settings and external agencies
