Ocean Ward/Complex Care Community Band 5 nurse Permanent Post

If you are a registered childrens nurse who is looking at expanding your skills and knowledge withing a hospital and community-based setting then we have a brand new exciting role within Ocean Ward and Complex Care Community.

Ocean Ward is a 6 bedded long term ventilated ward within the specialised medicine directorate based at Birmingham Childrens Hospital. As part of our team, you will be supported in your own professional development and encouraged to take personal ownership for the high levels of care we provide for our patients and families. Join our team of staff who continue to deliver outstanding patient care.

Working as part of our dynamic and developing team, you will meet the needs of children requiring complex nursing care including tracheostomy and ventilation care within the ward and home environment.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a motivated Childrens Nurse who would be able to work in the community and ward environment covering rotational days, nights, weekends and bank holiday shifts. We look after children across Birmingham and surrounding areas including Stourbridge, Wednesbury, Dudley and Walsall and you would be expected to be able to travel to these locations and will need to be mobile for travel to meet the requirements of this post.

You will be provided with an excellent opportunity to develop your clinical skills in an environment that encourages innovation and evidence-based practice. A comprehensive induction and professional development programme is available. You will have the opportunity to gain a wide variety of different skills including specialist skills related to tracheostomy and ventilation care. We will expand your educational development through access to relevant courses and support from our dedicated education team.
