Job summary

For newly qualified staff we offer support from Band 7 through the preceptorship process to Band 8A. We offer excellent development opportunities, including further training, support and clinical supervision. Those who are already matched in skill would move automatically to Band 8A and we will provide additional support to enable career progression and professional development.

We are a psychology led, multi-disciplinary team that supports young people aged 13 -18 as part of the West Midlands CAMHS Provider Collaborative (WMCPC). The team includes psychology, nursing, occupational therapy, administrators and is expanding.

We work with young people at the edge of Tier 4, or those stepping down from hospital to support stability within the community. We work systemically with residential homes, social care, families, CAMHS and schools.

The team has a range of expertise in trauma, therapeutic parenting, systemic and group work, DBT and more.

Main duties of the job

Principle duties will include:

Providing highly specialist psychological assessment, formulation and intervention to families, professionals.

Offering advice and consultation to colleagues and other professionals.

Involvement in service planning and development, this will include identifying need and participating in development plan process.

Contribute to the development of the Team offer.

Staff support and supervision, MDT working within the team and psychological leadership.

Staff training.

Applied research and development related to the needs of the clients served and the West Midlands CAMHS Provider Collaborative as a whole.

Participation in Clinical Governance activities including Continuing Professional Development.

Participation in the operational policy, service planning and service evaluation.

We are looking for a candidate who can offer from 25 to 37.5 hours per week or job share. There is also possibility to hold a small caseload of direct clinical work in Forward Thinking Birmingham if there is capacity.
