An opportunity has arisen for a dynamic nurse to join our established, friendly and supportive team of Breast Clinical Nurse Specialist in Chelsea. This position is a fixed term for maternity cover. The post will focus on the holistic care of patients with primary and secondary breast cancer. If you have experience nursing breast oncology patients on treatment or clinical nurse specialist experience in the cancer pathway setting this post will be an excellent opportunity for you. The successful candidate will join an established friendly team of nurses who work closely with ANP's, the medical and research nursing teams. However, if you have not got the experience and skills as a specialist nurse, we are able to offer support to develop, and this may be reflected in the banding. Please call us for more information.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be expected to liaise appropriately with all key members of the multi disciplinary team and service users related to the specialty. In addition the post holder will be required to liaise with their peers across the Trust, the divisional management team and appropriate corporate directorates and teams. The post holder will be expected to liaise with colleagues external to the Trust and national networks as appropriate to the specialty.
- To provide professional and clinical leadership and expertise in the care of the patient with upper and lower gastrointestinal cancers, acting as a resource to provide information and support to patients, carers and staff. Working with NHS patients.
- To take responsibility for own evidence based practice and implement and add to the body of knowledge that supports nursing practice within Breast cancer care.
