We are looking for a Matron to join our Service development team in Private Care. The role will be based across our Sutton, Chelsea and Cavendish Square sites.
This is a full-time position and is offered as a secondment until December 2026.
Main duties of the job
To create and maintain effective links with clinical, operational, international and research teams to identify Private care service development opportunities.
To lead on the development of business case developments with the Associate Director of Operations.
Support the improvement and development of Private Care Processes and the quality-of-service delivery. ensuring the needs of the patient are placed at the centre of care delivery
Working closely with the other Private Care matrons and the Divisional Nurse Director (DND) to ensure nursing influence is included in service development and decision making
To attend senior nurse meetings and act as a representative at Divisional and Trust meetings
Advise the DND - Private Care Services on matters pertaining to the provision of nursing services within private care areas.
Contribute the formulation of local operational policies relating to Private Care Services.

- First level Nursing registration
- First level degree in relevant speciality
- Masters degree or equivalent job related experience
- Evidence of continuous personal development
Desirable
- Formal project management qualification or demonstrable experience of delivering projects
- Post registration qualification in cancer nursing
Knowledge & Experience
Essential
- The post-holder will also require knowledge of several disciplines: - programme & project management - improvement methodology - financial management - performance management - information systems
- Experience of leading and delivering service innovation, redesign or quality improvement projects in a clinical setting with operational and clinical teams using Quality Improvement methodology
- Experience in a large complex organisation and/or NHS
- Experience of successfully collaborating to deliver change
- Experience of delivering change on time and on budget
- Track record of successful engagement with clinical leaders

- Experience of using IHI Improvement Methodology
- Demonstrable experience in a range of cancer care settings
