You'll lead by example, providing strong clinical leadership while ensuring a safe, compassionate, and effective environment for patients, families, and staff.Working closely with the Lead Nurse and multidisciplinary teams, you'll be responsible for coordinating patient care, managing resources, mentoring staff, and maintaining excellence in clinical governance. You'll have the autonomy to make real decisions and the support of one of the world's leading cancer centres.________________________________________What You'll Be Doing:o Lead and coordinate nursing care delivery, ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality.o Support staff through clinical supervision, debriefing, and mentorship.o Act as a key decision-maker in patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.o Contribute to the strategic direction of the unit, including audits, incident reviews, and policy development.

Main duties of the job

  • To create and maintain a safe, therapeutic clinical environment for all patients and their familieswho come to the Critical Care Unit. To proactively co-ordinate all functions and activities within the Critical Care environment.
  • In conjunction with the Critical Care Matron, to manage Critical Care resources of clinical area within budgetary limitations eg. finance, equipment and staff (including temporary staff).
  • To provide strong clinical leadership of the nursing and support workers that is motivating, supportive and sets clear boundaries resulting in high quality safe patient care.
  • To support a clinical learning environment that enables nursing staff to develop professionally and promotes the use of evidence in practice
