Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced gynaecology oncology nurse to join our Clinical Nurse Specialist team. The post holder has a distinct level of responsibility to patients with gynaecology tumours in providing a comprehensive specialist nursing service to the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, working within a team of Clinical Nurse Specialists, Healthcare Support workers, and Advanced Practice Nurses.
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and experienced, who enjoys patient contact and working in a multi-disciplinary environment to support the delivery of a quality service. You must be able to demonstrate good communication skills, flexibility, reliability and have an organised approach to work.
Due to the nature of the role, we are looking for a dependable and highly adaptable individual who is able to work independently and has the ability to fit in quickly as part of a team.
Main duties of the job
- To assist in the provision of professional and clinical leadership and expertise in the care of the patient with Gynaecological cancers, acting as a resource and consultant to provide information and support to patients, carers and staff.
- To lead and contribute to the formulation of policies.
- To lead and contribute to the formulation of patient information.
- To liaise effectively with all members of the multi-disciplinary health care team so as to achieve a synchronised specialist service across both sites.
- To provide informal and formal teaching, e.g. academic courses provided by the School of Cancer Nursing and Rehabilitation.
